After living a while in Japan nearly everybody has heard about the ridiculously expensive square watermelons. Today I saw them for the first time at a local supermarket and I can honestly confirm that they are expensive. Have a look at the pic I snapped with my iPhone … 12.800 Yen!

Summer has started so is the watermelon shipment, but in the city Zentsuji in Kanagawa Prefecture they distribute a more practical watermelon… the square watermelon that is designed to fit in your fridge!!
